Greg Allen

Greg Allen is an artist and writer who began greg.org: the making of his research-based art blog about the creative process, in 2001. Allen’s writing has also appeared in Art in America, ARTnews, The Art Newspaper, The Brooklyn Rail, Cabinet, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and The New York Times. Allen organized exhibitions (Exhibition Space, apexart, 2013; Chop Shop, SPRING/BREAK, 2016); launched a foundation to bid on the ground lease for Spiral Jetty; and published five volumes of deposition transcripts and court documents from the copyright infringement lawsuits of Richard Prince as artist books. Allen was awarded an Andy Warhol Foundation Art Writers Grant in 2011. He studied art history at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and finance at The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife, an astrophysicist, and their two kids.
