Rabkin Library

We invite Rabkin Prize winners and arts writers we are in conversation with to recommend a book to the arts writing community, present and future. The books can be of any genre. They may be of practical use, insightful, pleasurable, challenging, or urgent. We also seek to acquire newly published books by our community of Rabkin Prize winners. We bring many of these books to our shelves in Portland, Maine, and all are welcome to visit us and borrow a book. Our library is a living reflection of our community, its inspirations, thinking and interests. It is also a unique recommended reading list. The Rabkin Library initiative takes inspiration from the library project at Surf Point, a fellow artist-endowed foundation in Maine, as well as the library of books by Nieman Fellows in the seminar room of the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University.
